Once a heritage-listed Commonwealth bank, now one of the finest dining hubs in the district! Salt Meats Cheese Cronulla sits in the chic new space that is part of Banc located in Ocean Grove. The original elegant building has been a landmark in Cronulla for years. Its restoration and preservation of the historic remnants of this building helped to revive the space into an art deco chic Italian restaurant. The perfect way to infuse the old to new was to leave the bones of the building with the original exposed brick featured throughout the new fresh white plastered walls.
There is a sense of the Italian riviera vibe all over the restaurant with big antique copper wire weave pendant lights and potted olive trees outside, accentuated by the big open windows bringing the alfresco dining inside. The L shaped concrete Caesarstone benchtop wraps around the authentic wood fire pizza oven and stainless-steel food preparation area. The captivating Ceasarstone benchtop continues onto the bar where diners can sit back and enjoy true Aperitivo culture. Customers will be mesmerized by the concrete look trio-arched mirrored drink stand on the backbench of the bar. This hero piece was manufactured in three separate pieces, so it could be transported and maneuvered into place. They were lifted on top of the bench, with a lot of manpower and then two were joined together. The pre-cut mirrored glass was placed into the backing and recessed LED shelves were then installed to highlight the extensive range of aqua vitae. Food connoisseurs can browse the large range of the deli through the custom-made delicatessen cabinet with mirrored stainless-steel lining the internal walls displaying endless stunning fresh produce or order a five-tier cheese tower and experience a true Italian alfresco experience. The finished product is absolutely Bellissima!
